A
true Teddy bear is really bichon-poo and shihtzu, but zuchons
are also known as teddy bears. For more information on True teddy
bears please visit www.fuzzypuppylove.com Please note the photos used on this site are teddy bears.
shichon photos are in the nursery when there are puppies to sell, each puppy in the nursery shows photos of dam, sire, and information on the breed and contact information.
The Bichon Frise - Shih Tzu mix well grow from 12 to 20 pounds,
depending on breed,
the Mediterranean Bichon-poo and shih-tzu (Teddy Bear) mix weighs around 10 pounds, and has
curlier hair, and the Imperial shichon bloodline can weigh 6 to
10 pounds and have more silky hair, while the standard zuchon
can weight up to 20 pounds.
The Teddy bear by breed, will
grow from 6-14 pounds.
zuchon hybrid hair is very soft, virtually hypo-allergenic, and
well grow from 4 to 6 inch's.
Zuchons were originally bred for their temperament, for disabled
children. Teddy bears are very affectionate and have a happy temperament. These
designer dogs are not high strung, like many of the toy sized
dogs these days, but still have a playful nature. This charming,
little gentle dog will bark when needed, but definitely is not
a yapper. Teddy bears can learn to perform tricks, and are great
with children. Shih Chons, Zu-Chons, Teddy Bears, and Shi-Chons
are all Shih Tzu Bichon Frise mix puppies.
It's pretty hard to offend a zuchon, Both the Bichon and the Shih
Tzu are very social dogs, and the mix is every bit as social.
The mix does benefit from the sweet and easy going nature of the
Shih Tzu, bringing down the activity level of this mix to generally
mild to medium. They love to play in bursts outside, but when
it's time to settle down for the night, these zuchons are happy
to do so.
We believe
in Hybrid Vigor or Heterosis, which is an increase in the performance
of hybrids over that of purebreds, most noticeably in traits like
fertility and sterility, however we drive for the Euro genetics,
(such as the imperil shih-tzu and Mediterranean
bichon).
Heterosis is a term used in genetics
and selective breeding. The term heterosis, also known as hybrid
vigor or outbreeding enhancement, describes the increased strength
of different characteristics in hybrids; the possibility to obtain
a genetically superior individual by combining the virtues of its
parents.
A mixed-breed dog Heterosis is the opposite of inbreeding depression,
which occurs with increasing homozygosity. The term often causes
controversy, particularly in terms of the selective breeding of
domestic animals, because it is sometimes believed that all crossbred
animals are genetically superior to their parents; this is true
only in certain circumstances : when a hybrid is seen to be superior
to its parents, this is known as hybrid vigor. When the opposite
happens, and a hybrid inherits traits from their parents that makes
them unfit for survival, the result is referred to as outbreeding
depression.
The dominance hypothesis attributes
the superiority of hybrids to the suppression of undesirable recessive
genes from one parent by dominant genes from the other. It attributes
the poor performance of inbred strains to loss of genetic diversity,
with the strains becoming purely homozygous at many loci.
Certain combinations of genes that can be obtained by crossing two
strains are advantageous in the hybrid vigor.
We
are also proud foster parents for the human center, we only foster
mama cats with litters, but that's what's most needed and it insures
the health of our pets. We also Donate puppies to handicapped or
ill children, each of our puppies is not only bred for temperament
but also go through a development process we have designed, as you
can see if you click on on of the puppies in the nursery, this makes
them perfect for ill, or disabled children who dont have the option
to bond with their peers, However due to the fact we are limited
to the breed, and the time and money that go's into our pets and
fosters, we are limited to one child every few litters. which is
about two a year. if you are interested in the donation puppy please
fill out the form on the contact us page at www.fuzzypuppylove.com
the donation child always gets pick of the litter!
